Window Replacement in Tulsa

Tulsa’s houses span a century, from wood-sash bungalows to builder-grade 1990s windows, so the right replacement depends on how old the house is.

Your request goes to an independent local window replacement company. No obligation.

Lead-Safe Rules Cover Most of Tulsa

A large share of Tulsa homes were built before 1978. In those homes, window replacement contractors must be EPA lead-safe certified firms and follow RRP work practices, such as plastic sheeting, dust control and cleanup checks. Ask to see the firm’s certificate.

Historic Preservation Districts

Some Tulsa neighborhoods are zoned historic preservation (HP). There, replacing windows visible from the street may need approval from the Tulsa Preservation Commission, and it may prefer repair or replacements that match the original style. Check with the City of Tulsa before ordering windows.

Restore or Replace?

Old-growth wood sashes in good shape can often be repaired, re-glazed and paired with storm windows. If they’re rotted or missing, replacement makes sense. Some window companies do both. Mention it in your request.
